About the Jobs
Position: Laboratory Technician
In this role, you are responsible for performing high-precision laboratory work, focusing on DNA/RNA extraction and the implementation of various PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) tests on incoming plant material.
Your key responsibilities include:
• Sample processing and DNA/RNA extraction:
- Preparing incoming plant material (e.g., bulbs, tubers, leaf bags) and extracting DNA/RNA using standardized protocols.
• PCR testing: - Running PCR tests to detect plant pathogens and ensure quality.
- Ensuring results are entered correctly into the laboratory database.
- Assisting with routine tasks such as stock counting and general lab maintenance.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, from 08:30 AM to 05:00 PM.
Job offer requirements:
- Availability to work for at least 6-12 months.
- Motivation to work: Overtime and Saturday work may be required during busy periods. During quieter periods, willingness to work for other clients is expected.
- Couples and friends are not guaranteed to work in the same department or shift. Work schedules are assigned individually.
- Candidates who start from September onwards are expected to work during the Christmas and New Year period.
- Good knowledge of Dutch and / or English
- High level of accuracy and motivation to work in a lab setting.
