Van Steijn-Damen B.V. is a family-owned company founded on January 1, 1954. Initially focused solely on cultivating flower bulbs, the company has since evolved into a key supplier for garden centers, retailers, and wholesalers, offering a wide range of products. The assortment mainly includes hyacinths, tulips, and daffodils, but also features other flower bulbs such as Muscari, Crocus, Iris, Scilla, Ornithogalum, Allium, Galanthus, Eranthis, and Convallaria. Products are delivered in raw form as well as arranged in baskets, trays, or pots.

About the Jobs

Job Description:

Work involves handling flower bulbs in both warehouse and greenhouse environments.

From August: work focuses on machine planting of hyacinth bulbs in the warehouse.
From October to March: work includes transplanting flower bulbs from trays into pots and decorating them with moss. This period involves working many hours.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Sorting and Planting Flower Bulbs in Pots:

Selecting bulbs: Employees choose the best-quality bulbs for planting, considering size and condition.
Planting: Placing bulbs into pots at the proper depth and spacing to ensure healthy growth.

2. Preparing Floral Arrangements and Decorations:

Creating arrangements: Assembling aesthetically pleasing and attractive flower decorations for various occasions.
Selecting plants: Choosing suitable flowers and greenery for each arrangement.

3. Order Packing:

Preparing for shipment: Carefully packing bulbs and ready-made floral compositions to ensure they reach customers in perfect condition.
Labeling: Applying labels with product information for easy identification by recipients.

4. Other Duties:

Maintaining cleanliness: Keeping the workspace organized and clean to ensure efficiency and safety.
General support: Assisting in other production-related tasks depending on company needs and current orders.

**Seasonal work runs at least until the end of February. Availability during the Christmas and New Year holidays is required – no holiday leave is allowed during this period.

Working Conditions:

Work takes place both in the production hall and the greenhouse.

Job offer requirements:

Availability to work for at least 6-12 months.
Motivation to work: Overtime and Saturday work may be required during busy periods. During quieter periods, willingness to work for other clients is expected.
Couples and friends are not guaranteed to work in the same department or shift. Work schedules are assigned individually.
Candidates who start from September onwards are expected to work during the Christmas and New Year period.
