Company information: Kwekerij Vlasman is a modern and rapidly growing potted plant nursery located in Mijdrecht. The company boasts an impressive area of over 30,000 m², which allows it to efficiently cultivate plants on a large scale. Kwekerij Vlasman specializes in the cultivation of high-quality Saintpaulia plants, also known as African violets.
The current offering includes six different flower colors, available in elegant pots with a diameter of 12 cm. Kwekerij Vlasman is committed to the highest quality of its products, carefully overseeing every stage of the production process – from planting and care to packaging and shipping.
About the Jobs:
Working at Kwekerij Vlasman involves a variety of tasks related to the preparation and handling of potted plants, especially African violets. The main responsibilities include:
- Placing products on trolleys – This task involves arranging plastic containers with flowers on metal trolleys according to specific customer orders. Accuracy is essential to ensure orders are correctly prepared and ready for transport.
- Operating the flower wrapping machine – The employee is responsible for operating an automated machine that wraps flowers in foil to protect the plants from damage during transportation.
- Trolley assembly – Duties also include assembling metal trolleys, which are necessary for storing and transporting plants within the greenhouse and throughout the facility
- Planting and caring for plants – The employee will take part in the planting process as well as the daily care of the plants, including watering, pruning and maintaining overall plant health.
- Preparing orders for shipment – This includes assembling customer orders, packaging them securely to prevent damage and preparing them for shipping according to established standards.
- Other tasks – Depending on current needs, the employee may also be involved in various additional duties such as maintaining cleanliness in the greenhouse, quality control of the plants or assisting in other production processes.
Expected working hours per week: 40 hours (Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM). In the case of increased order volume, overtime during the week and work on Saturdays may be required. Overtime is always mandatory.
Job offer requirements:
- Availability to work for at least 6-12 months.
- Motivation to work: Overtime and Saturday work may be required during busy periods. During quieter periods, willingness to work for other clients is expected.
- Couples and friends are not guaranteed to work in the same department or shift. Work schedules are assigned individually.
- Candidates who start from September onwards are expected to work during the Christmas and New Year period.
- No contraindications for working in high temperatures
