About the Jobs
Work at J. Star en Zonen is available from April to December and includes a variety of tasks both in the warehouse and outdoors, mainly related to peony cultivation and fieldwork.
April to November – work in the warehouse and in the field, including harvesting flowers such as peonies and Gypsophila (baby’s breath):
- In the warehouse:
Tasks mainly involve sorting, packing and preparing peonies for sale. Flowers are carefully selected for quality and then packed for shipment to customers. Attention to detail and product quality is essential. - In the field:
During the blooming season, the main task is harvesting peony flowers. Fieldwork can be physically demanding, as it requires working in varied weather conditions and keeping up with a fast pace, especially during peak flower demand.
November to December – digging up peony bulbs (fieldwork only):
- After the flower season ends, the work shifts fully outdoors to the digging period, which involves harvesting peony bulbs. These bulbs are then prepared either for winter storage or for sale. This task requires physical endurance, as work may take place in challenging weather conditions like rain and low temperatures.
Job offer requirements:
- No health contraindications for working outdoors or with plants/flower bulbs.
- Flexibility: mandatory overtime/work on Saturdays in case of high workload.
- Availability to work for a minimum of 6–8 months.
